Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B in a signature mix. She has performed on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and was a pianist. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training in the Atlanta's R&B scene. Her voice has also been a part of voice to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) offered her an opportunity to be the choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine rose to prominence during the four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
